Trade Show Shelving & Product Displays

These are the shelving and product-holding parts of an exhibition stand: portable fabric shelves, layered showcases, spiral towers, fabric counters with acrylic shelves and add-on modules carrying a screen. Everything breaks down into a case and rebuilds with hand tools or none.

Good communication. Very helpful. The product we ordered is as we anticipated. A canvas bag was included, along with Velcro tape for installation. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We are very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Retail Store Display Accessories? +
Much of the hardware is the same; the job it does is not. Retail Store Display Accessories is aimed at a shop fit-out that stays up for months and includes fixtures that never move, such as peg board panels, apparel frames and waterfall units. This collection is the exhibition view of it: shelving that packs into a case, goes up on Tuesday, comes down on Friday and gets freighted to the next show. Buy here if the unit has to travel.
How much weight can these shelves carry? +
An acrylic shelf takes 5kg to 8kg spread across its width and an aluminium showcase shelf takes 10kg to 15kg. The real limit is usually the upright and the base rather than the shelf itself. Load a tall unit from the bottom up and leave the top shelf for one hero product, because a top-heavy tower on a carpeted hall floor goes over when someone catches it with a case.
Do the shelves come out for transport? +
Yes. Shelves lift off their brackets and travel flat in the same case as the frame, wrapped in the foam or fleece they ship with. Acrylic is the part that gets damaged, since it scratches against aluminium and chips at the corners, so never let a shelf travel loose in a case with hardware. Count shelves and brackets back into the case at pull-down, because brackets are what crews leave on the floor.
Can shelves be added to a wall I already own? +
Only if the wall is the same system. Shelf brackets clamp to a specific extrusion profile, so a bracket made for a 60mm tension frame will not grip a popup lattice or an Octanorm upright. Send a photo of the upright and a measurement across its face and we will tell you before you buy. If it does not match, the add-on modules here stand on their own feet next to the wall instead.
Are shelves allowed on an organiser's shell scheme wall? +
No, and it catches people every show. You cannot screw, drill or hang anything off an Octanorm frame, organisers charge for damage, and floor staff will make you take it down. Use a freestanding shelving unit set 100mm clear of the shell wall, or fit your own printed panels first and hang off those. The exhibitor manual spells out the rule for your show, so read it before you plan the layout.
How long does one of these take to build on site? +
A portable shelf unit or counter is a 10 to 20 minute, one-person job. A five-layer showcase or spiral tower runs 30 to 45 minutes because every shelf is separately bracketed and levelled. Build them before you dress the stand rather than after, and level the base on the hall floor first, since a shelf that looks crooked is almost always a base nobody levelled.
Can one unit hold a screen and product at the same time? +
Yes. The add-on modules and several arch booths here carry a bracket plus two shelves, which is the usual answer for a small stand where floor space is tight. Keep the screen at eye height, roughly 1.4m to the centre, and put product below it rather than beside it. Running a screen means a power drop ordered from the organiser and every lead test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760.
How do I check something suits my stand before ordering? +
Send a photo or a sketch of the stand with its dimensions, plus what you intend to put on the shelves, to support@backdropsource.com.au, or call +61 7 3053 8668 and describe it. We will confirm the unit fits the space and the load. Artwork for any printed panels is set up for you free of charge with a 2D mockup to approve, delivery Australia-wide costs nothing, and frames carry a 1-year warranty.
