Is a backlit display genuinely brighter than a printed wall with spotlights? +

It is more even, which matters more than peak brightness. Spotlights clipped to a top rail throw two or three bright pools with darker fabric between them, and that unevenness is what makes a stand look cheap in photographs. A backlit face such as the Slim Fabric LED Backlit Exhibition Wall reads at a consistent level corner to corner. What you lose is the raking light that gives texture to product on shelves, so most stands end up using both.

Can I move my existing graphic onto a backlit frame? +

No, and it is the most common mistake we correct. Backlit graphics are printed to a different density because light passes through the fabric instead of bouncing off it; a front-lit print on a backlit frame goes washed out, loses shadow detail and lets the LED bars show as bright lines through the face. Have the file output for backlighting from the start. The same artwork can be reprinted both ways, but each frame needs its own version.

Will the LED bars show through as stripes? +

They will if the cavity is too shallow for the light to spread. A face needs roughly 80mm to 120mm between the LED and the fabric to diffuse evenly, which is why deeper frames exist. Slimmer units get around it with edge-lit panels that fire light sideways into a diffuser rather than straight at the fabric. If you are specifying a shallow build yourself, budget the depth first and the graphic second.

How much power do these draw and what do I order from the organiser? +

A single 10A outlet runs one frame or one enclosure comfortably. A run of several lit frames plus a screen and a kettle will trip a shared board, so order a second outlet rather than daisy-chaining power boards. Outlets are booked through the exhibitor manual, usually weeks ahead. Every lead, extension and fitting must be test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760, and stand inspections at Australian venues do pull untagged gear.

Which enclosure suits a 360 photo or video setup? +

The 360 Spinner Fabric Booth Enclosure, which is built around a rotating arm. Allow a clear 3m x 3m of floor for it, because the arm needs swing room and guests need somewhere to queue that is not inside the shot. If you only need a lit surround for stills, the Hexagonal Fabric Vogue Booth Enclosure or the Fabric Vogue Booth take much less floor and are quicker to move between rooms during an event.

What is the difference between a vogue booth and a photo booth enclosure? +

A vogue booth lights the subject from the walls around them; a photo booth enclosure mainly creates a controlled background. The Fabric Vogue Booth and the hexagonal version wrap illuminated panels around the person so faces are lit from several directions, which flatters guests and suits full-length shots. The Half Circle Photo booth Enclosure and the Oval C Fabric Photobooth Enclosure are shaped surrounds, better when you are bringing your own lighting and want a clean printed backdrop.

Do backlit hanging banners need a rigger? +

Yes, and a power drop as well, which is the part people forget. The Backlit Cubic Fabric Hanging Banner and the Backlit Rectangle Hanging Banner both have to be flown by the venue's approved rigger, booked through the exhibitor manual, and they need a supply run to the rigging point rather than a lead off your stand. When is a non-lit display the better buy, and how do I order? +

When your artwork is pale and text-led, because there is little for backlighting to do and Non-Backlit SEG Fabric Displays cost less to buy, freight and reprint. If you do want light, send us your artwork or logo files with the frame size and we will prepare the file specifically for backlit output at no cost, then send a free 2D mockup before printing.
