Double-Sided Fabric Printing

Duplex printing runs two independent images, one on each face of the cloth, with an opaque layer between them so neither shows through the other. Weights run from 115GSM knitted polyester for hanging work to a 300GSM blockout backdrop.

Good communication. Very helpful. The product we ordered is as we anticipated. A canvas bag was included, along with Velcro tape for installation. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We are very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does duplex actually mean? +
Two separate prints bonded back to back with a light-blocking layer sandwiched between. It is not one print showing through to the reverse, and it is not the same artwork mirrored. Each face gets its own file, so a hanging sign can carry your logo on one side and a floor plan on the other. The construction adds weight and thickness, so hems, keder and pole pockets need to be specified for the finished thickness.
When do I actually need duplex instead of a single-sided print? +
Whenever both faces are visible and the reverse matters. Ceiling-hung signs over an exhibition aisle, double-sided pull-up banners flanking a stage, room dividers and queue-line banners all get read from behind. A single-sided print on thin cloth in those positions shows a ghosted, reversed image of the front, which looks like a mistake. If the banner sits flat against a wall or inside a frame with a solid back, single-sided is cheaper and lighter.
Which of the three duplex fabrics should I pick? +
Duplex Knitted Polyester (115GSM) for most hanging work, because it is the lightest and folds into a satchel. Duplex Shiny Satin Polyester when you want a sheen that catches stage lighting, accepting that gloss also catches reflections in photographs. The Duplex Blockout Polyester Backdrop (300 GSM) where the banner doubles as a light barrier, at the cost of real weight. Give the venue's approved rigger a finished weight before load-in.
How is this different from block-out fabric printing? +
Block-out fabric carries one printed face and a black or grey backing that stops light. Duplex carries two printed faces with the blocker in the middle. If nobody needs to read the back, ask us to quote a single-sided block-out print instead and save the second pass through the press. If the back is a second advertising face, duplex is the only option that gives it full colour without a shadow of the front image bleeding through.
What files do you need, and how do I order? +
Supply two files, clearly labelled side A and side B, both at full size with 20mm bleed and vector or 300 dpi content. Tell us the finished dimensions in millimetres and how it hangs, and the quote is free with pricing set by size. We will check the files and build a 2D mockup at no cost.
