Will a 2.4m backdrop look undersized inside a 3m stand? +

No, provided you push it to one side rather than centring it. A 3m Octanorm bay is quoted on 3m centres but the clear internal opening usually lands between 2.9m and 2.95m, so a 2.4m wall leaves roughly 500mm at one end. Centred, that reads as two awkward gaps. Hard against one upright, it reads as a deliberate service corner for cartons, coats and a bin, and the graphic still fills the sightline from the aisle.

Straight or curved at this width? +

Straight, in almost every case. A curved frame is measured along the arc, so a 2.4m curve occupies only about 2.2m of frontage once it is set, and at this width you cannot spare 200mm. The curve does buy self-supporting stability and a shallow void behind it, which matters more from 3m up. A straight wall needs feet, so keep them inside your floor line rather than letting them creep into the aisle.

How tall can I go in a 2.4m bay? +

Stay under 2.5m. Shell scheme walls are 2.5m high, and organisers treat anything taller as a structure that needs approval and a finished rear face so neighbours are not looking at your frame. The Portable 2.3m High Fabric Exhibit Display sits just under the rail with clearance for the cover to seat properly. Freestanding frames around 2.2m to 2.3m are the practical ceiling for an inline bay.

Can I light one of these without ordering power from the organiser? +

No. Clamp lights and the LED spotlights on the Premium Straight Fabric Wall with LED Spotlights all need a 10A outlet, and outlets are ordered through the exhibitor manual, usually weeks before the show. Order one more outlet than you think you need, because a counter, a screen and a phone charger fill a single power board fast. Every lead, board and fitting must be test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760, and floor staff do check.

Should I buy a backlit light box instead of a printed wall? +

Only if the hall lighting is poor or your graphic is dark. The SEG Frameless Fabric LED Light Box Display - 2.5m W x 2.5m H is the closest fit to a 2.4m bay and holds colour where a front-lit wall goes flat and grey. The costs are real: it is heavier to freight and handle, it needs power for the whole run rather than two spotlights, and the graphic is printed for backlighting so it will not transfer onto a non-lit frame later.

How long does a 2.4m stand take to set up? +

One person, 20 to 30 minutes, for a pop-up wall like the Portable Straight Fabric Pop-Up Wall. A tension fabric frame plus a counter and lights runs closer to 40 minutes and goes faster with two people, because seating the cover means walking the frame and one person ends up doing laps. Build the frame flat on the floor, stand it, then dress it. Leave the lights until the wall is in its final position.

When should I step up to the 3m range instead? +

When the bay is genuinely 3m wide and your stock can live off-stand or inside a counter. What it costs you is the storage gap: every carton then has to go behind a counter, under a table or into the organiser's storeroom, which is a walk you will make several times a day.
