Frequently Asked Questions

Will these fit the wall I already have? +

Some will, some will not, and the deciding factor is the frame profile. Shelves, TV mounts and hanging rails clamp to a specific tube size and cross-section, so a bracket made for a 40mm square SEG extrusion will not grip a 32mm round pop-up tube. Send us a photo of your frame with a tape measure across the tube before ordering any mounting hardware. Freestanding items like brochure stands and cases fit anything.

Can I hang a TV on a fabric wall? +

Only on a frame built for it, and the mount has to carry into the frame rather than into the fabric. Units like the Modular Add-On Unit with TV Mount and 2 Shelves and the TV Mount with Side Table put the load into a reinforced upright. Keep the screen under about 25kg, set its centre near 1.4m off the floor, and lift it with two people. Never clamp a screen to a plain tension tube.

Do I really need the lights? +

Usually yes, if the artwork matters. Halls are lit for walking through, not for looking at, so a graphic that was saturated on screen reads flat and grey once it is up. Clamp lights along the top rail fix it, as does an integrated option like the Modular Straight Tension Display with Neon Lights. Book power from the organiser early and have every lead and fitting test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760, because venues do check.

How much weight will a clamp-on shelf actually take? +

Treat it as good for a few kilograms of brochures or samples, not for stock. Load passes through two brackets into a hollow aluminium tube, so a heavy item in the middle of the shelf flexes the upright and pulls the fabric out of shape. For real weight, use a purpose-built unit like the Exhibition Display Showcase with 4-Layer Shelves or the Display Shelf Stand, which carries the load into its own base.

What about feet and weights, and when do I need them? +

Whenever the wall is freestanding, tall, or near a doorway. Standard feet keep a frame vertical on flat hall carpet, and weight plates or sandbags over the feet are worth adding when the wall is over 2.4m, curved, on a corner where trolleys pass, or anywhere catching wind from an entry. Feet are profile-specific and are usually the missing part in a second-hand kit, so send us your frame system.

Can I add a counter to the wall instead of buying one? +

You can add a shelf or a side table off the frame, and that is enough for a tablet or a brochure stack. It is not enough to work behind. If you need somewhere to stand and hide the cartons, use one of the fabric display counters on this page, or the wider Custom Trade Show Counters & Podiums range, because a standalone counter has its own printed skin, internal storage and a rigid top that will not shift when someone leans on it.

Which accessories are worth buying first? +

Lighting, then a brochure or tablet stand, then storage. Lighting changes how the whole stand photographs and costs the least of the three. A stand for literature keeps brochures off the floor and off the counter. A hard case protects the frame between shows and pays for itself the first time it prevents a bent upright. Buy a red carpet or an apparel rail only once you know the floor plan.
